I have lived with a good assortment of people. Some crazy, some young, some messy, some fun! BUT, I've never lived with an "older" person..and by older I mean my parents age. On the search for a summer sublet in Toronto, I enlisted my wonderful friend Vanessa to help by looking at places for me. You know you have a good friend when they're willing to look at a place and meet your potential roomies for you.
Vanessa went today to look at a place, in a great area called The Annex, which she said is so central I would've have to take cabs back from the bars. Not sure which bars exactly, but I'm sure I'll find out soon enough. Now, it's a three story house, and I would be sharing the bathroom and kitchen with an older woman named Micky. She seems nice, and Vanessa said she sounded super cute on the phone. The third floor is rented out by a German post-doc, a chemist who spends most of his time in the lab studying co2 emissions. His name is......wait for it......Engelbert!! Hahaha...I get a good chuckle every time I say it. I wouldn't see him since he has his own apartment basically. I haven't heard back from Vanessa but am keeping fingers crossed. It would be brilliant if this place worked out ahead of time and I didn't have to worry. But, would it work to live with a mom-like figure when I want to have a friend stay? We shall see.....
Also, I have an interview for an internship with Planet in Focus when I get there. PIF is an environmental organization that puts on the International Environmental Film & Video Festival. Perfect for someone who has been looking at jobs with Discovery Channel and the National Geographic Channel these past couple of months.
Many more exciting things taking place..stay tuned!!
